Lakeview Avenue Modernization

The Lakeview Avenue modernization took place in the City of Colonial Heights at the intersection with Route 1 (Boulevard).  The 18-month project involved demolition of the existing roadway and installing the underground water, sewer and storm utilities.  New street lights, pedestrian crosswalks and traffic signals were installed as part of the project.  New sidewalks, curb and gutter were installed as well.  The road was widened and striped allowing for new travel lanes.  During the course of construction, traffic had to be maintained on the roads.  This project dramatically improved traffic on a very busy street as well as making it safer for pedestrians to travel along the road as well.
